From family business to global player in mechanical engineering and the paper industry

Among Regensburg’s inhabitants, the name of “Fiedler” is still associated with the manufacture of perforated plates. However, much has changed in the former family business in recent years. Over the past 20 years, Fiedler has increasingly been focusing on the global paper industry. Perforated metal plates were formed into baskets and used in the process of fibre treatment. The successful course of business during the 1990s gave rise to the company’s decision to start its own development work and establish a global distribution network. These activities earned Fiedler an excellent name in the market as an independent system optimiser and supplier of high-quality components for plant construction. The range of products extends from filters to screen baskets and rotors to special types of perforated plates.
To be able to continue its successful activities in the changing markets of the paper industry, Heinrich Fiedler GmbH & Co. KG merged with a strong partner in July 2003. Under the new name Andritz Fiedler GmbH, the company became a member of the Austrian group Andritz AG, whose volume of sales is almost three billion euros.
